HCI (human-computer interaction) - is the study of how people interact with computers and to what extent computers are or are not developed for successful interaction with human beings.
Htaccess - The default name of the Apache directory-level configuration file. The .htaccess file configures the current directory with things like password-protection, URL rewrites, and so on.
HTML Validator - A utility for checking the syntax of HTML pages, the display of images and link validation prior to putting a site online.
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) - highly addictive live text-based communication.
Interlaced GIF - Enables the progressive display of an image, so that it appears to gradually fade in.
ISO - International Standards Organization.
JPEG - Joint Photographic Expert Group. A standard for file compression, more powerful than GIF, that can produce a 1:200 compression ratio.
